Bernard and Edith have been around the Manchester live scene for a couple of years now, releasing a single on legendary Salford label Sways. They've now signed to Bella Union and have just revealed the first track from their forthcoming album Jem. Tidal Wave comes accompanied by a strange, but intoxicating moving image video.
Tidal Wave is a great introduction to the band as it reflects their minimalist electronica and haunting vocals. It's a far cry from their early, slightly awkward live shows as they've developed into an accomplished live band and, on the basis of this first track from the album, a studio band as well.
The album Jem comes out on 11th May on Bella Union and features thirteen tracks including last year's singles Poppy (which came out on Sways) and their Bella Union debut Wurds, which opens the album.
