EVEN THE STARS PLAYLIST 3

The third Even The Stars playlist features ten songs from artists we've been listening to recently and which we'd love to share with our readers. It features You Want Fox, Dream Wife, Heavy Heart, Annabel Allum, Caroline Lazar, Alica, Atella x Froder, Black Honey, Fickle Friends and La Bête Blooms.

1. You Want Fox - Liar Liar

Liar Liar is You Want Fox's first release since they signed to Derby-based Reckless Yes, also home to Even The Stars favourites LIINES. The two piece - Natalie and Colette - play bass and drums and deliver a song that's loud, raucous, but also a whole lot of fun.

You Want Fox are on Facebook and Twitter.

2. Dream Wife - Somebody

Dream Wife's latest single (and second inclusion on the playlists) is already a live favourite and with its chorus of "I am not my body, I am somebody" a defiant message to those who objectify women.

Dream Wife's official site can be found here and they are on Facebook and Twitter

3. Heavy Heart - High Dive

Last year Heavy Heart released a single a month which they're compiling onto a beautifully looking raspberry red vinyl called Keepsake at the end of March (it'll also be available digitally). Check out the video for this song too.

Heavy Heart's website can be found here and they are on Facebook and Twitter.

4. Annabel Allum - Rich Backgrounds

We stumbled across Annabel Allum's set at A Carefully Planned Festival in 2015 and were immediately impressed by the intensity and directness of her music and performance and this single, expletives included, takes that up another level as she launches a searing criticism of rich people looking down their noses at others.

Annabel Allum's official website can be found here and she is on Facebook and Twitter.

5. Caroline Lazar - Nevermine

Nevermine is the debut track from Florida resident Caroline Lazar and the lead from an EP of the same name. It starts off delicate and confessional before bursting into life half way through. It's an astonishing first release.

Caroline Lazar is on Facebook and Twitter.

6. Alica - Home

Another debut release on the playlist from 19 year old singer songwriter Alica. It showcases a voice capable of using its range to express the emotion of the song as well as an ability to craft a lyric that's relatable to people's own experiences irrespective of gender and age.

Alica is on Facebook and Twitter.

7. Atella x Froder - Closer To Life

This track features on Eskimo Recordings' latest compilation The Red Collection, which we picked up being played in Piccadilly Records. It features Norwegian duo Atella with Froder on guest vocals which are beautifully dreamy and uplifting.

Atella are on Facebook and Twitter.

8. Somebody Better - Black Honey

Somebody Better might just be the song that makes the much anticipated breakthrough for Black Honey that we've been expecting for a while. Izzy and her gang deliver a song with a huge chorus that feels like a call to arms.

Black Honey are on Facebook and Twitter.

9. Hello Hello - Fickle Friends

Another Brighton based band and like Black Honey, Fickle Friends look to be on the brink on a big breakthrough. Hello Hello is their new single and is full of an effervescent infectious energy that's sure to win them a whole new army of admirers.

Fickle Friends are on FacebookTwitter and Soundcloud.

10. Breaking In - La Bête Blooms

Breaking In is the lead track from the Hull five-piece's I Know It's Nothing EP and manages to capture the raw direct intensity of their live shows.

La Bête Blooms are on Facebook and Twitter.
