Georgie came to The Castle Hotel on Sunday night for a rare solo headline show treating the audience to a seventeen-song set of songs played on guitar and piano, mixing new material with tracks from her recent Georgie Live! album.

Georgie - Interview


Georgie releases her three-track EP Too Much TV today. For someone who burst to our attention as far back as October 2015 (and indeed featured in our top tips for 2016), it's been a seemingly long road to this point, but as she tells us, she's been busy building a body of songs and working with some pretty impressive people along the way.

Georgie was one of our top five tips for 2016, but she's had a relatively quiet year up to now, but that's about to change with the release of her debut single Company Of Thieves and her October and  December tour dates with Jake Bugg and the omnipotent Blossoms that will catapult her into the spotlight and in all likelihood into all manner of sound of 2017 lists.

Even The Stars Tips For 2016 - The Top Five

On the last day of the year we reveal the five acts that we expect big things from in 2016. Of last year's top three, we were the only blog to nominate Blossoms in the Blog Sound Of 2015 poll and they finished the year headlining The Ritz and close to selling out Albert Hall. We have high hopes for these five acts that we've championed during 2015 and expect big things of in 2016.

Georgie - Manchester Castle Hotel - 31st October 2015


There are moments you watch an artist for the first time and you know they're going to be a star. We first saw Rae Morris back in 2012 in a basement bar in London and knew immediately that she was destined for bigger things. Tonight we witnessed a similar experience when we caught Nottingham's Georgie perform a short six-song set in the intimate surroundings of Manchester's Castle Hotel.
