Lanterns On The Lake - Edinburgh La Belle Angele - 23rd August 2025

Lanterns On The Lake played only their second show of the year on Saturday night at La Belle Angele in Edinburgh as part of the venue's week of shows to coincide with the final week of the Edinburgh Fringe. Previewing four unreleased songs as well as favourites from across their career, they delighted an audience that stood and drank in the atmosphere created by one of the country's finest and most underrated bands.

Lanterns On The Lake / Philip Selway - Halifax Minster - 18th October 2024

Lanterns On The Lake headlined the Friday night of Halifax's Town Festival in the resplendent setting of the Minster. Whilst vision was difficult from the pews, Lanterns On The Lake delivered a set of songs taken mostly from their last two albums Spook The Herd and Versions Of Us that felt even more imperious and overwhelming in the hallowed settings. Support came from Philip Selway with a solo set before taking his place behind one of the headliner's two drum kits.

Music Feeds Live - 27th February 2024


Music Feeds Live has been announced today to take place at Manchester Apollo on 27th February 2024. Featuring the likes of James, The Slow Readers Club, Lanterns On The Lake and Chicane accompanied by the Joe Duddell Orchestra, the concert aims to raise money to fight food poverty. It will be hosted by Gary Neville, Jamie Carragher and Chris Hawkins.

Lanterns On The Lake / Sophie Jamieson - Manchester Band On The Wall - 5th December 2023

Lanterns On The Lake brought their UK tour in support of this year's fifth studio album Versions Of Us to Manchester's Band On The Wall on Tuesday night. In front of an enthralled and attentive Manchester audience they played the album in full plus standout tracks from its Mercury Prize nominated predecessor Spook The Herd and a couple of old favourites. Support came from fellow Bella Union artist Sophie Jamieson.

Their most upbeat offering to date, with a twist at the end, the song focuses on throwing aside your inhibitions and self-doubts and living life to its full potential.

Lanterns On The Lake / Wyldest / Hector Gannet - Newcastle The Boiler Shop - 10th December 2021



Lanterns On The Lake played their first hometown headline show for four years on Friday night at The Boiler Shop supported by Wyldest and Hector Gannet. Originally intended as a celebration of the launch of their Spook The Herd album but delayed by eighteen months by the pandemic, with promoter changed in the interim, the night still felt like a triumphant return in front of a loyal attentive audience.

Lanterns On The Lake / Hilang Child - Glasgow King Tut's Wah Wah Hut - 29th October 2021


Lanterns On The Lake continued their much-rearranged UK tour with a sold-out show at Glasgow King Tut's Wah Wah Hut on a wet and cold Friday night. Despite being one woman down they put on a performance to warm the hearts and minds of the audience supported by fellow Bella Union artist Hilang Child.

Lanterns On The Lake - The Realist EP


The Realist EP is a collection of songs that didn't quite fit on Lanterns On The Lake's Mercury-nominated album Spook The Herd - four new previously unreleased songs and a radically different Model City version of the album track Baddies. Whilst the tracks might not have fitted on the album, that's absolutely not an indicator of inferior quality - and the EP provides a broader view into the creative processes of the Spook The Herd sessions.

LIVESTREAM : Lanterns On The Lake - Gateshead Sage - 7th November 2020

It's been quite a year for Lanterns On The Lake. Their fourth album Spook The Herd earned them a Mercury Prize nomination to go with universally positive reviews for their strongest record to date. Touring plans had to be put on hold because of lockdown and tonight's show, initially planned to be a socially distanced event in the stunning surroundings of Gateshead's Sage, had to be changed to a livestream playing Spook The Herd in full.
