The Magic Numbers belatedly celebrated the fifteenth anniversary of their self-titled debut album with a show at Manchester Academy 2 on Tuesday night, playing the album in full in order including their first hits Forever Lost, Love Me Like You, Love's A Game and I See You, You See Me. Support came from Salford's own Ren Harvieu with a mix of tracks taken from last year's second album Revel In The Drama and brand new songs.

TRACK OF THE DAY : Ren Harvieu - Yes Please
Ren Harvieu has released Yes Please, the second single from her long-awaited Revel In The Drama album due for release via Bella Union on April 3 and announced a UK tour to coincide. Clocking in at five and a half minutes the song perfectly captures Ren's showstopping voice that has won her so many admirers since she released her debut Through The Night.

Ren Harvieu / Pat Dam Smyth - Manchester Deaf Institute - 22nd October 2019
Ren Harvieu recently announced her return and her long-awaited second album after a seven year gap from her debut. To showcase the record she announced two low-key shows starting with this one at the Deaf Institute in Manchester where she revealed eight more new songs, one that's so new it isn't even on the record as well as a selection of old favourites to a besotted audience. Support came from Pat Dam Smyth.

Seven years on from her top five debut album Through The Night, she's finally back with a single Teenage Mascara, the first track to be taken from her second album due for release via Bella Union in March 2020 written with The Magic Numbers' Romeo Stodart.

It's hard to believe it's ten years since The Magic Numbers debut album catapulted them from nowhere into the upper echelons of the charts with hits such as Forever Lost, Love Me Like You and Love's A Game. They've produced three fantastic albums since, but the self-titled debut is the one that sticks in most casual fans' memories. They're on tour revisiting that album in full and we caught their show at Gorilla in Manchester supported by Ren Harvieu as they rolled back the decade.

Ren Harvieu - Manchester Deaf Institute - 25th April 2015
It's three long years since Ren Harvieu broke onto the scene with her Top 5 album Through The Night. As we wait patiently for her second album, being crafted with the likes of Bernard Butler and The Magic Numbers' Romeo Stodart, she played a show at Manchester's Deaf Institute, mixing songs from her debut with a few covers and one new song whilst showcasing a new more upbeat dynamic sound with a five-piece band without taking the focus away from her show-stopping voice.

It's been a long time since Ren Harvieu's last solo show. We went along to her low-key comeback show at Hebden Bridge Trades Club and were treated to one of the finest voices in modern music as well as a treat in the shape of the delightful Bird To Beast.
