The Blinders headlined the opening Saturday in Jimmy's new Liverpool site in the sauna like conditions of the basement venue supported by an impressive list of bands who'd made the journey up the East Lancs in Saytr Play, Déjà Vega, Ryan Jarvis, Dantevilles and Scuttlers.

Whilst reunions of Manchester bands that first made their mark around the time the eighties turned into the nineties and the country rid itself of the blight of Thatcher have been making waves for years now, a small but beautifully formed back street boozer amongst the dark satanic new build flats of the western bit of Manchester that's been annexed to form Salford was home to one of the most unheralded and unlikely reunions.

Easter Sunday saw a very different trio of acts take over the music room of The Castle in Manchester, starting with the acoustic songsmith Ryan Jarvis, followed by one of Manchester's rising stars in the band Lunar and topped off with the psychedelic and soulful tunes of Vermillion Tides.

The Hope Mill Theatre, hidden away at the back of Ancoats, is the setting for the second Crafted Festival, a celebration of beer, food and music - possibly the best three things known to man. In wonderfully intimate surroundings we watched The Slow Readers Club, Bang Bang Romeo, Katie O'Malley and Ryan Jarvis play sets as the beer flowed and all sorts of street food was consumed.

Henry's Paw For The Dogs - Compilation Album
September 11 2014 was a night Manchester's dog lovers will probably remember forever. An arson attack at Manchester's Dogs Home saw more than fifty dogs killed. The city rallied round and raised hundreds of thousands of pounds to assist with the rebuilding. Dog lover and music fan Kevin Brown came up with an idea of his own.

Manchester Dogs Home Charity Fundraiser
Following the tragic fire at Manchester Dogs Home on Friday night, the £1m donations in twenty-four hours made news worldwide. To show support locally a benefit gig has been arranged by Manchester venue bosses, managers, DJs and artists to take place at Sound Control on Sunday 21st September.
