Daisy Valentine / SKIES / The A.V. Club - Stockport Bask - 4th August 2022

Thursday night saw our first visit to the new venue / bar Bask in Stockport for the launch of Daisy Valentine's Tabula Rasa EP with her performing a headline set supported by acoustic performances from SKIES and The AV Club, both who put on impressive shows despite an audience that felt their conversation was more important than the music.

TRACK OF THE DAY : SKIES - Deconstruction

SKIES today release Deconstruction, their first new material since last year's It's Not The End Of The World EP. Full of their distinctive hooks and pulsating beats the single will delight their loyal army of fans whose participation in garden shows as lockdown eased helped to fund the recording as well as hopefully win them new admirers.

SKIES - Manchester Retro - 12th September 2021

A wet dreary Sunday night with the promise of a long week at work was brightened up by the presence of SKIES, all the way from Kent, with a seven-song set that felt more appropriate for a big festival stage than it did a dark Manchester basement.

Whilst festivals are being cancelled around our ears, Manchester's After All Festival continued in a socially distanced format on Thursday night - a sold-out event at Manchester's Tribeca combining a range of different styles of music and urban poetry to an appreciative crowd that had been starved of live music for sixteen months.

TRACK OF THE DAY : SKIES - It's Not The End Of The World

SKIES - Interview

Our friends SKIES have been one of the busiest bands around during lockdown, performing daily livestreams from their home in Kent, strengthening the bond between the band and their dedicated fanbase. They've released a live album, recorded with full kit in a bedroom, and a series of acoustic songs. Today they release their new single It's Alright and we caught up with Alie for a chat about the craziness of the past few months and their plans for the future.

SKIES - Let's Do It All Again (Livestream Tour Compilation)

Living The Stream is the name SKIES gave to their series of live acoustic streams they've been holding daily six days a week from their Folkestone home for the past eleven weeks since lockdown began. When their tour got cancelled in May they responded by setting up drums and the rest of the kit in Jericho's bedroom and playing full on live sets on their own and the venue's social media - with the option of buying tickets to support the venues. They've compiled fourteen songs, every one they've released plus one as unreleased, recorded as part of those shows for a digital and very limited physical release.

TRACK OF THE DAY : SKIES - Born Yesterday

SKIES return with an exciting brand new single Born Yesterday and a quiz show style video with a twist at the end. The Kent-based duo continue their love of high-energy songs with a deeper message behind the lyrics. Musically euphoric and uplifting, there's more than a little sadness when you listen closer to the words about a situation most of us have faced at some point.

TRACK OF THE DAY : SKIES - X

X is the latest single to be taken from SKIES' EP of the same name ahead of a short four-date tour later this month. The striking video for the single, shot by Visual Line, focuses around the song's line "I don't know what I'm doing here" as Alie and Jericho look to try and determine where they are in a forest.

The Slow Readers Club / SKIES - Hull Welly - 11th May 2018

With the announcement that Build A Tower had entered the album charts at number eighteen, a phenomenal success for not just The Slow Readers Club, but their growing army of loyal followers and every band that is playing the local circuit of their hometown starved of the attention of radio and media that has belief in what they're doing. A party atmosphere ensued in a hot, sweaty and packed to the rafters Welly Club in Hull.  Support came from SKIES.
