The Big Moon / Gently Tender / Arxx - Manchester Academy 2 - 25th September 2022

A pandemic and a pregnancy pushed back The Big Moon's biggest Manchester headline show by two years but finally, ahead of the release of their third album Here Is Everything, Juliette, Celia, Soph and Fern played this sold-out show on Sunday night. Support came from Gently Tender, with a familiar face in the band, and Arxx.

Pixies / The Big Moon - Manchester Apollo - 18th September 2019

Pixies' huge European tour in support of their seventh studio album Beyond The Eyrie hit Manchester Apollo on Wednesday night for a sold-out show that covered all seven of their studio albums across a mammoth thirty-seven songs, focusing heaviest on the new record and their classic Doolittle. Support came from The Big Moon.

Day 2 of Mad Cool Festival saw Arctic Monkeys headline the main stage with little repeat of the chaos at the gates and food stalls and bars that marred the first day. We also caught Marica, Real Estate, The Big Moon and Wild Front before the headliners delivered a set heavily focused on new album Tranquility Base Hotel And Casino and AM.

Even The Stars Top Albums Of 2017 - 5 to 1

Our Top 25 albums of 2017 countdown concludes today with the Top Five albums (in our opinion) that were released this year. We also would give a very honourable mention to our most listened album of the year which is Live With Royal Northern Sinfonia, which topped our 2016 listing and received its first physical release on vinyl in November.  Feel free to tweet us your favourites and why you think our list is great / predictable / preposterous.

The Big Moon - Manchester Deaf Institute - 28th April 2017

In tour in support of their magnificent debut album Love In The 4th Dimension, The Big Moon's debut Manchester headline show was a triumphant sold-out gig at the Deaf Institute, a venue that will soon feel like an intimate warm-up once they've charmed and slayed festival fields all summer.

The Big Moon - Manchester Fopp - 10th April 2017

In support of their excellent debut album Love In The 4th Dimension, The Big Moon played an intimate completely unplugged eight-song acoustic set in the basement of Fopp's Manchester store. Fighting colds and the shop going about its business, they delivered beautiful stripped-down versions of the songs that retained the hooks and melodies of the originals but gave them a completely different spin.
