It's been four years since we heard new music from Little Sparrow, but she's out of hibernation today with a brand new single Moondust. It's a change in direction that Katie (aka Little Sparrow) describes as "space folk" but with old friends in collaboration with her.
Katie wrote the song with long-term collaborator Jonny Lexus and the track features Sarah Dale on cello, Robin Dewhurst on piano and Mitch Oldham whilst Jonny also takes on production duties with additional work by Sean Kelly.
Katie explained a little more about the song - "Moondust began with the feeling of being drawn to someone, eager to discover more about them. That mesmerising feeling of meeting someone new, who takes you to another dimension—an experience that leaves you feeling spellbound and transported.
The lyrics and melody came together, with the piano part leading the way. After recording the initial idea, I sent it to Jonny (Lexus), who helped bring it to life. We had fun experimenting with sounds, which felt like the creative freedom of our teenage years. We're proud of the result and hope Little Sparrow fans connect with it too."
