Makes No Difference is Ist Ist's second single from their recently announced fifth album Dagger, the follow-up to their top 25 Light A Bigger Fire, due for release on February 6th, 2026. Possibly their most immediate and radio-friendly single to date, Makes No Difference is both unmistakeably Ist Ist, but also another step up as the band continue to accelerate their unstoppable momentum both at home and on the continent where they're selling out thousand plus capacity venues in many countries.
The band explain the meaning behind the song - "Makes No Difference is largely about lust and desire, the forbidden apple. It’s hard to say exactly in what form, When you're drawn to something with almost no control, you can try and try but in the end, it makes no difference"
Dagger and previous records can be ordered via their website.
Digital versions of their previous limited edition releases and a number of live field recordings are available to download from their Bandcamp.
Ist Ist play Brighton Mutations Festival (November 7), Leeds Warehouse (28), Glasgow Oran Mor (29), London 229 (December 5), Birmingham Academy 2 (6) Norwich Waterfront (April 9, 2026), Exeter Phoenix (11), Oxford O2 Academy 2 (12), Newcastle The Grove (16), Sheffield Network (18), Nottingham Rescue Rooms (23), Bristol Thekla (24), Brighton Quarters (25) and Manchester Albert Hall (May 1)
