FHS is the second single to be taken from The Miserable Rich's forthcoming
album Overcome which will be released digitally on December 1st and physically
in February 2024. A reinvention of an old track criminally hidden away on the
b-side of their standalone single Anything's Possible, the band are sounding
as fresh and strong as ever.
The reinvented track features brass and layered vocals, fleshing out the song
from its original form into something joyous and celebratory as front man
James De Malplaquet explains "This is more of a vibe than a song. It
celebrates the joy of having the sun/son in our lives. The brass section was
recorded in two sessions of about half an hour each. The birds are from Will’s
garden." The accompanying video features snapshots from their whole time as a
band as well as more recent family and band pictures collected together to
create a warmth that matches the optimism of the song perfectly.
The Miserable Rich had previously released three albums - Twelve Ways To
Count (2008), Of Flight And Fury (2010) and Miss You In The Days (2011).
Overcome
and the
single
with two additional remixes can be ordered from their Bandcamp.
