TRACK OF THE DAY : Tom A Smith - Weirdo

Sunderland teenager Tom A Smith precedes a busy summer season of shows and his biggest tour to date in winter with the release of Weirdo, the third track to be taken from his forthcoming EP3.

Tom explains the meaning behind the single and it's a refreshing difference to the often po-faced overly serious takes people have on their songs and it captures the sense that music brings people together and gives them a home and a purpose and makes them feel less alone - "I like Weirdo a lot, I've always wanted to write something a little bit silly and can tell from the reaction to it live that it makes people smile. People can relate to it because we're all Weirdos in a way."

Weirdo is taken from Tom's EP3 out on June 30 which features previous singles Little Bits and Like You Do as well as his cover of Swedish House Mafia's Don't You Worry Child as well as the demo that later became Like You Do under its original title Me.
