Proletariat released their new single Losing Control Is A Beautiful Thing on Friday, a
marked change from their previous output yet unmistakably them, and today have
announced its follow-up Don't Turn Out The Lights and their biggest headline
show to date for next year.
The single might come as a surprise to those who followed Proletariat's
career to date from their explosive introduction, almost-as-sudden
disappearance and recent reemergence. Recorded at The Libertines' Albion Rooms studio down in Margate, it's a more reserved track compared to
their previous output and shows a mellower side to them, both in James' vocals
and the guitar work that takes over as the song progresses, but it allows them
to demonstrate that there's more to them than their full-speed ahead
adrenaline surge that's won them so many admirers.
They're not resting on their laurels either despite their Deaf Institute show
at the weekend selling out months in advance. The single's follow-up Don't
Turn Out The Lights comes out on October 8th and they've just announced their
biggest headline show to date at Manchester's Gorilla on May 21st next year,
following on from their support with Ist Ist at Academy 2 on December 11.
