Liquorice is the third single from Whitehaven five-piece Springfield - a synth- and hook-heavy track that's their strongest piece of work to date.
The song tells of wanting someone you can no longer have - the lyrics start with the feeling of being utterly in love with someone as Rhys sings - "addicted to your touch, I'm about to overdose, prescribe me supplements"- before it falls apart and "everything I once loved has now turned to dust." It's set to a tune that hurtles along at a hundred miles an hour, reflecting the fast pace at which emotions react in situations described in the song.
Springfield play Whitehaven The Yellow Earl (March 6) and Manchester Off The Square - This Feeling (April 4).
