Sit Down Meal is the lead track from London four-piece Dry Cleaning's forthcoming second EP Boundary Road Snacks And Drinks out on October 25.
The song is about the memories you have when the breakdown of a relationship still feels raw, as lead singer Florence explains : "It’s set at the moment just after being suddenly dumped. You cling to details, things you did together and reel at their significance. If you smell their perfume on someone else you feel overwhelmed, but immediately and painfully aware of how lightning quick a relationship can evaporate into thin air."
Dry Cleaning are Florence Shaw on vocals, Lewis Maynard on bass, Tom Dowe on guitar and Nick Buxton on drums. Their debut EP Sweet Princess was released earlier this year and featured a tribute to Meghan Markle (Magic Of Meghan) and will be included in a vinyl release of Boundary Road Snacks And Drinks including a Dinked edition at selected independent stores.
Dry Cleaning are on Facebook.
They play Dublin Workmen's Club (October 17), Bristol Simple Things Festival (19), Cardiff SWN Festival (20), London The Lexington (23), Glasgow Great Western Festival (November 23) and Sheffield Picture House Social (24).
