Useless Cities return today with their first single of the year How To Feel. It mixes two very different vocal styles - one full of foreboding, the other full of hope as it soars into the distance - and music that builds and wraps itself around the listener before balancing on the precipice of distortion in the breakdown.
Useless Cities are a London-based four-piece featuring Tom on guitar and vocals, Conny on keyboards and vocals, Clare on bass and Seb on drums. How To Feel has been produced by Paul Tipler, who has worked with the likes of Placebo, Idlewild, The Horrors and LIINES, and represents a harder edged sound to their previous releases that have seen them labelled as shoegaze.
Tom describes How To Feel as "It is about the beginning of a new relationship, when you are trying to engage the feeling part of your heart. The thought of it all working out, despite reservations is a nice dream. Well, we all need to have hope...".
Useless Cities' website can be found here and they are on Facebook and Twitter.
They play London Paper Dress Vintage (October 9) and London Werkhaus (November 14).
