David Ford and Abe Partridge brought their two-man songwriters' circle tour to Manchester's Castle Hotel on Friday night in sweltering conditions, each playing a solo set and then an encore where they took turns in playing songs. Each told stories around the songs and their journey as songwriters as well as their obvious mutual love and respect for each other as people and musicians.

David Ford / Annie Dressner - Manchester Gullivers - 8th March 2022
David Ford and Annie Dressner performed the second of two shows in Manchester on Tuesday night at a sold-out show at Gullivers, across the road from the previous night's more intimate set at The Castle. With both artists only performing one song on both nights and with David bringing along his full kit and looping set-up, it was a very different but not less enthralling evening of entertainment.

David Ford returns with his fifth studio album Animal Spirits, a collection of songs written about the concepts of macroeconomics applied to day to day situations. We asked long term fan Andy Sweeney to have a listen to the album and compose his thoughts.

David Ford - The Union EP
In the middle of a UK tour, David Ford has released an EP called The Union which is currently only available at the shows he's performing with Michele Stodart and JP Ruggieri. The five-track EP is a taster for his new album Animal Spirit that's due later in the year. It's unmistakably Ford and will delight those that have followed him for close to a decade and a half, but has the potential to win him new admirers.

David Ford - London Bush Hall (Milk And Cookies) - 18th December 2016
Every year David Ford puts on a special event called Milk And Cookies in December to raise money for charity. It's no ordinary gig though, as the title suggests people bring milk and cookies to sell for donations, there's auctions, an interval and a selection of his own songs, some covers he's selected and others that are randomly picked from a book by members of the audience. It all sounds like it could go terribly wrong, but it never does thanks to Ford's ability to fashion covers of classic songs, guilty pleasures and some of his own favourites from his home-made looping machines and the most basic of kit.

David Ford - Manchester Fallow Cafe - 2nd October 2016
David Ford has been quiet for much of 2016 recording a new album for release next year and preparing for impending fatherhood. Ahead of that, he's out playing a few small intimate shows that both preview new material and revisit old favourites. We caught up with him in the cosy surroundings of the Fallow Cafe in Manchester for two sets littered with songs from his four albums, his numerous EPs, five new songs and a lot of conversation.

David Ford - Milk And Cookies, Manchester Gorilla - 20th December 2015
Milk And Cookies is an annual event where David Ford throws off all his inhibitions and embarks on a series of shows where he not only revisits his own back catalogue, but also delves into some of his favourite songs as well as leaving song selection to random pages generated from Guinness books of hit singles. What could be an absolute mess usually ends up in chaotic triumph and this year's Manchester event in aid of the Reverse Rett charity was no exception.

David Ford - Interview
Bush Hall in London on December 15th and Gorilla in Manchester on the 20th host two very special shows by David Ford. They are not your run of the mill gigs, neither are they Christmas shows, but the Milk And Cookies gigs are now an unmissable part of the year for anyone who's ever seen or heard David play. He mixes his own material with adventurous cover versions of classics that shouldn't be covered and some that get picked at random from a book of hit singles on the night. We had a chat with David about how this phenomenon came into being and the Reverse Rett charity that will be benefiting from this year's shenanigans.

David Ford / Jess Morgan - Salford Kings Arms - 12th October 2015
Everyone's doing the classic album thing these days. It's almost a cast iron guarantee of trebling your audience at the drop of a hat. But as ever David Ford doesn't play by the rules. He's won a dedicated band of followers over the last ten years and him deciding to play his debut album I Sincerely Apologise For All The Trouble I've Caused isn't a commercial act designed to make him rich for twelve months, but a celebration of a very special album that defined a time and place for a small group of people, himself included.

David Ford - I Sincerely Apologise For All The Trouble I've Caused
To celebrate the ten year anniversary of his debut album I Sincerely Apologise For All The Trouble I've Caused, David Ford is playing a series of commemorative shows. Even The Stars goes back in time to reminisce how low-fi homemade demos and videos and a series of intense live shows turned him from the front man of a dropped post-Britpop outfit to one of the hottest unsigned properties in the business for a few short months in 2005.

David Ford - Manchester Deaf Institute - 17th May 2015
Four guitars, one bass, two sets of drums, one operated remotely by foot pedal, a piano, two electronic drum pads, one tambourine, one shaker and a plethora of loop pedals and electronic gadgetry make up the impressive array of equipment on stage yet it's all operated by one man as David Ford brings his One Man Band tour to the Deaf Institute in Manchester. It's by far his most ambitious set yet, but he pulls it off against the odds, confirming his place as a unique, yet criminally ignored artist.

David Ford - Interview
We've been fans of David Ford back from his days in agit-poppers Easyworld and through ten years and four albums of his solo career. He's back with a seven-track release called The Arrangement, recorded with a string section and he's about to tour the record. We caught up with him for a chat.
