Odd Morris / Bleach Boy - Manchester Castle Hotel - 31st May 2022

Odd Morris bade farewell this week with a series of shows in their native Dublin and across the UK. We caught their penultimate show at The Castle in Manchester on Tuesday night, a bitter-sweet experience of witnessing a band doing what they love yet knowing that it would be the last time we see them perform together.

Odd Morris - Cityscape The Ballet EP

Before revealing The Once Was Enough, the first track to be released from Cityscape The Ballet, Odd Morris had already made their mark with a series of singles - What Might Be, Lilac Leaves, Cold Water and Your Four Walls. They marked them out alongside fellow Irish bands like The Murder Capital who they supported just prior to lockdown as creators of music that wasn’t afraid to delve into the murky waters and toxic masculinity. Odd Morris’s approach has always been much more considered and restrained in its execution and Cityscape The Ballet very much feels like an extension of that, a broadening of horizons, a deepening of the questioning in the search for answers.

20 FOR 2020 - EVEN THE STARS TIPS - Part Two

Every year we give our predictions as to bands that will make their mark in the following year. Sometimes we're way off the mark, sometimes we're spot on and other times we're a year or even two or three ahead of a band breaking. What really matters though is we think these twenty artists are great - and think you should check them out.

TRACK OF THE DAY : Odd Morris - Lilac Leaves

Lilac Leaves is Odd Morris's second single, the follow up to What Might Be. Like most of the bands emerging from the Dublin scene, the only common thread is geography - Lilac Leaves is a powerful slow-burner that's reflective in its subject matter.
