The Hipshakes - Snake


Snake is the third album in the twelve year history of Bakewell's The Hipshakes, but also their third album in the last ten months as the band had focused on singles for the first decade of their existence. The thirteen songs on Snake clock in at just over thirty one minutes and it's that brevity that helps make Snake such a fascinating listen - they don't stand on ceremony at all.

Day 2 of A Carefully Planned Festival and we're heading around Manchester's Northern Quarter without much of a plan (we lost our guide sheet twice and hadn't done our research) but the beauty of such a diverse, well thought out festival is that you'll always find something you weren't expecting to blow you away. We caught eight very different bands across five venues.

Menace Beach / Horsebeach / The Hipshakes - Manchester Castle Hotel - 26th January 2015



On the back of the release of their debut album Ratworld last week, Menace Beach set off on a whistlestop UK tour starting off at Manchester's Castle Hotel on Monday night. Support came from local favourites Horsebeach and The Hipshakes.
