Courteeners - Blackburn King George's Hall - 21st March 2018
It's ten years since Courteeners released their debut album St Jude. In that time they've fought against the sneering of the London-centric music press that's either derided or ignored them in the main part and succeeded to the point where they sold out fifty thousand tickets for Old Trafford Cricket Ground last summer. To celebrate the anniversary they've announced two huge shows at Royal Albert Hall in London and Manchester Arena as well as an re-recorded acoustic Unwired version of the album. Ahead of all that though, they headed to Blackburn for an intimate by their standards warm-up show.

The Courteeners - Manchester Apollo - 8th December 2015
For a band with many detractors, those that say they can only sell out shows in Manchester, that they are a one-trick pony with big anthems and nothing else, those that don't like Liam Fray's hair or more recently that he took umbrage at having a smoke bomb thrown at him by someone with the IQ of a foetus, Courteeners have sold out seven nights at Manchester Apollo in the blink of an eye. We went along to the first night to witness a band that's undisputably one of the people and not of the middle class press and naysayers that look down their nose at them.

Courteeners - Concrete Love
Concrete Love is the Courteeners' fourth album in six years. With no support from radio and very little press from the London-centric media, they've used their Northern roots talk to the disaffected urban youth. This may just be the album to finally crack the whole nation's conscience.

The Courteeners / The Tapestry
Cambridge Junction 5th March 2013
The Courteeners are a funny bunch. Very obviously Mancunian, they have a massive following in their hometown, to the extent that they can sell out the 15,000 Manchester Arena, but yet not the more modest Junction in Cambridge, even though it’s three years since they’ve been here.
