The Blinders / Secs / Carnival Club / The Big Peach - Manchester Night People - 31st December 2018

Night People has made its mark on the Manchester live scene throughout 2018 and the relative newcomer was the place to be on New Year’s Eve as they put on an all-night collection of some of the city’s leading underground bands headlined by the world’s worst kept secret headliner The Blinders returning to their adopted home after a triumphant year touring the country to an intimate setting where it felt like everyone knew everyone else in the building.

Carnival Club - Manchester Bread Shed - 17th March 2018

Carnival Club's biggest Manchester show to date saw them headline The Bread Shed and run through tracks from their two EPs to date - Magdalena's Cape and the recently released Nomads And Crooks. As the night finished with what seemed like half the crowd on the shoulders of their mates during the encore of House Of Cards, they left with the celebratory cheers of the audience ringing in their ears.

EXCLUSIVE TRACK OF THE DAY : Carnival Club - Sin City

"Carnival Club in a few words would be dirty rock n roll soaked in sci fi" were how their front man Kai Roberts described the band in a recent interview with us. Sin City, the lead single from their forthcoming Nomads And Crooks EP, is the embodiment of that philosophy in three minutes and twenty four seconds. We're delighted to be able to reveal the song exclusively on Even The Stars.

Liam Fray / Carnival Club - Manchester Albert Hall - 3rd November 2017

As he came to the end of his three-week acoustic tour of the UK, Liam Fray played the first of three shows to an ecstatic response in the electric atmosphere of Manchester's becoming legendary Albert Hall venue. With a set comprising of songs from across the whole of The Courteeners' back catalogue, he often struggled to be heard over the deafening singing back from two thousand devotees crammed into every nook and cranny of this stunning building. Support came from one of the most exciting new bands in Manchester, Carnival Club, who looked perfectly at home up on the big stage.

Carnival Club - Interview

Carnival Club are a new band that have been making waves in Manchester and further afield over the past twelve months having broken on to the scene seemingly out of nowhere first with single House Of Cards and then their debut 12"/ CD EP Magdalena's Cape and some stunning headline live shows that belied their short existence as a band. After a summer of festivals they're back with a new single called Follow The Sun that they're launching at Rebellion Bar in Manchester on Saturday. We had a chat with front man Kai about the band, the new single and give you a sneak preview of the song that will win them a whole load of new followers.

The Blinders / Carnival Club / Saytr Play - Manchester Jimmy's - 24th February 2017

The Blinders are one of the most talked about bands on the unsigned scene at the moment, an excited word of mouth wave rising around them fuelled by the patronage of the likes of Cabbage and This Feeling. They're on a nationwide tour at the moment and we caught the first of two sold out shows at Manchester's newest venue Jimmy's with Saytr Play and Carnival Club supporting.

Carnival Club / Crimsons / Kieran Dobson - Manchester Ruby Lounge - 4th February 2017

This Ruby Lounge show was Carnival Club's first ever headline show, but from the response they got from a packed crowd and the confident assured performance they gave that had a moshpit going wild from the very start, you wouldn't have been able to tell. As early as February they've already justified their spot in our Tips For 2017 and we suspect the rest of the year will get bigger and better. Support came from Crimsons and Kieran Dobson.

Fairchild / Young Monarch / Carnival Club - Manchester Soup Kitchen - 19th November 2016

This is Fairchild's last gig for a while in their adopted hometown of Manchester as they move onto pastures new. Soup Kitchen is packed to the point it's almost impossible to move, but two hundred or so answer the call of dance that Fairchild's big 80s tinged rock sends so clearly from the stage. Support came from two of the most impressive bands on the local scene at the moment - Young Monarch and Carnival Club.
