It's been four years since we heard new music from Little Sparrow, but she's out of hibernation today with a brand new single Moondust. It's a change in direction that Katie (aka Little Sparrow) describes as "space folk" but with old friends in collaboration with her.

Little Sparrow returned to the beautiful Portico Library, one of Manchester's best kept secrets, a year after her first performance there for a trio show revealing new material and reinvigorating old favourites.  Support came from J P Worsfold and Eva who delivered compelling sets perfectly observed by a respectful audience in a stunning setting.

Charm Of Finches / Little Sparrow - Salford Sacred Trinity Church - 27th January 2023

Charm Of Finches returned to Greater Manchester after last year's shows in Manchester and Bury for an intimate sold out night in the inspiring surroundings of Salford's Sacred Trinity. Performing songs from their three albums to date as well as new songs from their fourth which they plan to record in Canada next month, the Australian duo had a reverent audience under their spell over two sets. Support came from closer to home in the form of Little Sparrow who reminded us of the majestic beauty of tracks from her debut album Wishing Tree and subsequent singles.

Little Sparrow - Sale Waterside Refract Festival - 21st July 2022

Little Sparrow headlined the first night of Sale Waterside's fifth Refract Festival playing a fifty-minute set accompanied by Robbie Cavanagh and Robin Dewhurst to a cabaret-seating set up in the venue's main theatre on Thursday night.

Little Sparrow - Hebden Bridge Wainsgate Chapel - 19th September 2021

Wainsgate Chapel sits on top of the hills overlooking Hebden Bridge and each year runs a small programme of live music to audiences of up to a hundred and fifty. Due to access being via narrow roads and up steep hills (we know, we walked up), the events take place in daytime with the audience sat in the church pews and on the balcony giving it a really unique feel and creating an intimate space for some very special concerts and Little Sparrow's two-hour two-set performance of tracks from her debut Wishing Tree and forthcoming second album was no exception.

Little Sparrow's version of James' classic track Sit Down has been recorded with Robin Dewhurst (Josh from Blossoms' father) on piano and long-term musical partner Sarah Dale on cello - and takes the Manchester standard and slows it right down and allows Little Sparrow to showcase her stunning vocals and extract maximum emotional effect from the lyrics.

Little Sparrow - Manchester Bridgewater Hall - 25th November 2018

The refined surroundings of the Bartorelli Room at the Bridgewater Hall were a fitting location for Little Sparrow's long-awaited return to the Manchester live scene. Armed with a set containing a number of new songs and performing three tracks with pianist Robin Dewhurst from her recent Just 3 collaboration, she received a well-deserved standing ovation at the end of the hour-long set.

Just 3 is the first new material from Little Sparrow since her album Wishing Tree. Including lead track Tender, revealed late last year, her radical reinterpretation of Madness' Baggy Trousers that she performed with Robin Dewhurst in 2016 at Kendal Calling and another new song Dry Your Eyes, the EP showcases the power, range and beauty of her voice and provides a tempting teaser for her second album that she's in the process of recording.

Tender is the first song taken from Little Sparrow's new EP Just 3, a collaboration with classical pianist Robin Dewhurst and her first new material since her acclaimed album Wishing Tree. The accompanying video is made up of photographic memories of some of her fans that she sourced through a Facebook request.

The Sound Check Music Show featuring The Slow Readers Club, Pale Waves and Slydigs

Music TV programmes are a dying breed. If you take away the major label fodder that is Later With Jools, there's very little at all. The Sound Check is a new Dock 10 production out of Media City that is trying to reverse that trend and champion new artists. Its pilot episode featuring The Slow Readers Club, Pale Waves and Slydigs and presented by 6 Music's Chris Hawkins and one of our favourite local artists in her own right Little Sparrow, aka Katie Ware, has just been released.

As she spends 2016 preparing songs for her second album, Little Sparrow has taken time out to release videos of three songs recorded using innovative 360 degree video virtual reality technology at Dock 10 Studios in Salford's Media City.

Wishing Tree is the new single from Little Sparrow, backed with an exclusive track not available on her album called Garden. The single is accompanied by a video recorded in the woods near Macclesfield and also features some clever use of animation to add to the mystique of the film.
