TRACK OF THE DAY : Little Sparrow - Alone

Little Sparrow's new single Alone, taken from her forthcoming second album Feather Moon, continues the more dramatic path her music has taken since the release of her debut Wishing Tree - but with her unmistakable vocals very much taking centre stage.

Set to a haunting video by long-standing collaborator Luca Radlin at People Staring and featuring Sarah Dale on cello, Mitch Oldham on drums and producer Jonny Lexus on guitar, Alone is based loosely on the Alice Sebold novel The Lovely Bones. 

Right from the start though, it's Little Sparrow's vocals that come to the fore, heightening the dramatic tension of both the words and the video and creating something that sits more as a complete work of art than just a mere song as it explores the sensation of feeling lost and alone whilst questioning whether we really are.

Little Sparrow plays Live In The Woods Bodfari Woodland Skills Centre (July 11), Chepstow Green Gathering Festival (July 31 / August 1) and Sutton The Sound Lounge (September 23)
