After many postponements Manchester's You Are Not Alone Festival finally took place on Saturday around eight venues in the Northern Quarter with a full line-up of artists from the local scene and further afield, often playing in venues much smaller than you'd traditionally find them. LIVESTREAM : Proletariat - Live At The Festival Theatre

Proletariat's comeback last year came as a bit of a surprise after they bowed out after a series of sold-out Manchester shows you could count on both hands a couple of years ago, burning out before it seemed they'd achieved much of what was expected of them. Having released a trio of singles since they announced they return and unable to return to the gig circuit because of the restrictions, they set up a live stream show from Hyde's Festival Theatre on Friday night.

This Feeling's Big In 2018 series of shows took over Jimmy's in Manchester this weekend. Staying true to the ethos of promoting both local talent and giving bands from out of town the opportunity to play somewhere away from home, Saturday night's sold-out show matched Mossley headliners Proletariat and Stockport's Matter Of Mind with Glaswegians Voodoos and Grimsby's Mint for a four band bill that was high on loud guitars, big choruses and powerful songs that aim for the jugular.

Tips For 2018 - Part One

Every year we make some predictions of bands that we think are going to make an impact in the following year and beyond (we use that caveat as we're often a year ahead of some of these types of polls as we cover bands at the very grass roots level, particularly in Manchester). Over the next five days, cumulating with our top four tips on Saturday, we'll run through 20 acts we think could make their mark in 2018.
