Ryley Walker - So Certain EP
Ryley Walker is one of the most prolific artists around. Not just content with releasing his own solo album Course In Fable last year, he also put out a number of collaborations inspired by the improvisational spirit that runs through his live shows where songs take on a life of their own often detached from their recorded origins. The So Certain EP is a more traditional record, laid down with long-term collaborator Bill MacKay on guitar, Andrew Scott-Young on bass and cello and Quin Kirchner on drums and percussion, the former two who'd worked with him on Course In Fable.

TRACK OF THE DAY : Ryley Walker - Telluride Speed
Telluride Speed is the lead track from Ryley Walker's upcoming fourth album Deafman Glance, due for release on May 18th. Featuring his distinctive voice and loose jamming style, it's unmistakably Ryley, but feels like a progression from his 2016 album Golden Sings That Have Been Sung.

Ryley Walker / Itasca - Manchester Piccadilly Records / Ruby Lounge - 14th November 2016
Ryley Walker is a unique character in the music industry, a man with an immense talent that refuses to play by any rules other than his own, which tend to be to do whatever the hell he likes. He returned to Manchester on Monday night for his fourth show in the last eighteen months, each one different in set up, in band mates and in style. Plugged in this time round with a band of four brothers in tow, he proceeded to play an hour and forty five minute set with just eight songs to an absolutely captivated audience. He was supported by Kayla Cohen who performs under the name Itasca. Prior to the show he rocked up at Piccadilly Records with just an acoustic guitar and proceeded to play four songs with no amplification.

Ryley Walker - Golden Sings That Have Been Sung
Golden Sings That Have Been Sung is Ryley Walker's third album following the underground successes of debut All Kinds Of You and last year's follow-up Primrose Green. It's an album that captures, as much as can be, the essence and spirit of Ryley's intense and thrilling live shows. The press release describes it as a coming of age, we'd go further and describe it as his masterpiece.

Ryley Walker / Lee Southall / Meg Baird - Manchester Band On The Wall - 28th February 2016
The word genius is often overused and we're guilty of that sometimes. It should be reserved for unique, inimitable talents. Ryley Walker is one such example. At his Band On The Wall show on Sunday he held an audience that wasn't wholly his own captive for an hour and a quarter with songs from his forthcoming unheard third album and guitar playing, vocals and a performance that left us stunned in silence.

Canadian Jenn Grant opens the evening and is followed by American soon-to-be-superstar Ryley Walker.

Ryley Walker - Primrose Green
Primrose Green is Ryley Walker's second album. It's a record full of contradiction. In parts its inability to stand still, stay in one place for more than a few seconds make it a difficult listen and will turn some people off it unless you stick with it and in others, the simple beauty of a guitar and voice make it chillingly intimate.
