Head For The Hills has been resurrected by its creators The Met in Bury at a new location since the pandemic. Moving away from its traditional home of Ramsbottom Cricket Club, the picturesque surroundings of Burrs Country Park are its new home, the two stages situated either side of the railway bridge on the East Lancashire Steam Railway. Impeccably organised as ever, the festival was a wonderful day out, with a diverse line-up across its two stages with lots of family activity for kids during the day and supporting local businesses with the food and drink offerings. Friday's main stage saw The Slow Readers Club headline with sets from Cut Capers, Gentlemen Of Few, Katherine Priddy and Izzie Walsh.

Katherine Priddy - Manchester Homeground - 7th August 2021
On a wet Manchester Saturday afternoon the rain clouds cleared for forty-five minutes as if in time for Katherine Priddy's long-awaited return to the city to perform at Manchester Folk Festival's takeover of Homeground. The set featured tracks from her early EP Wolf, her critically acclaimed debut album The Eternal Rocks Beneath as well as a number of new songs with delightful explanations of each song between them.

Katherine Priddy - Interview
Katherine Priddy has been an artist on our radar since we caught her set at
the much-missed A Carefully Planned Festival in Manchester in October 2016.
Her 2018 EP Wolf was one of our favourites of the year and she finishes 2020
with a new single Still Winter Still Waiting. We caught up with her for a chat
about the track, working with other musicians, her place on the English Folk
Expo mentoring programme and hopes for 2021.
