Loose Articles - Chaos EP

2022 has been the year where you can't move around Manchester without seeing Loose Articles somewhere. What's been missing so far is a full release and the Chaos EP has arrived to fill that gap, picking up this year's single releases and more.

As The Cro Cro Flies (Loose Articles / Queen Cult / Bugeye / The Red Stains / I, Doris) - Manchester Retro - 27th March 2022

Cro Cro Land, the London-based festival, headed North on Sunday for what was billed as "a day of explosive punk, rock and indie bands celebrating female and non-binary musicians" under the As The Cro Cro Flies banner in the basement of Retro. Headlined by Loose Articles, the line-up also featured a mix of local and out-of-town bands - I, Doris and Bugeye making their Manchester debuts as well as Macclesfield's Queen Cult and Manchester's adopted The Red Stains.

Billy Nomates / LIINES / The Red Stains / bdrmm / The Watchmakers / Happy Couple / Mynk / The Lounge Society / Loose Articles / The Goa Express - Manchester Psych Fest - 4th September 2021

The very long delayed Manchester Psychfest took place on Saturday along the Oxford Road corridor with an expanded line-up of artists, many of whom have outgrown their original bookings giving the audience an opportunity to catch them in rooms they're unlikely to play in again. We caught bands from Goa Express's opening set in the Ritz to Billy Nomates' Deaf Institute (reviews by Jason Wynne up to and including bdrmm)

A Concert For John (Peter Hook And The Light, LIINES, The Blinders, Cabbage, Dirty Laces, The Mysterines, Purple Heart Parade, Déjà Vega, Loose Articles, Scuttlers, Inland Taipan, Gardenback, Hey Bulldog, The Big Peach, La Mode) - Manchester Ritz - 1st August 2021

You'll know John Hall. If you're the type of person who likes to talk while the band are on, he'll have cast you a disbelieving stare across the room. If you're a real dickhead, like one man in Rawtenstall at a Liam Frost gig, I might have stood between the two of you at some point. If you love live music videos on You Tube, you'll have seen his wonderful Manc Music channel of films of songs recorded across Manchester's music venues, you'll probably be in one of them as he loves to show the audience reaction. If you've ever sat in the secret garden at the back of the Castle or the Rose And Monkey you'll definitely have met him. There isn't a bigger champion of new music in Manchester than John Hall. Many people might claim that title, bollocks that it is, as their own. But there's no I in John Hall, just a love of music, an extravagant flounce, a wicked laugh, a bag of pills and the biggest heart.

TRACK OF THE DAY : Loose Articles - Buses

After Loose Articles announced themselves with their Orchid Lounge EP in 2019 things went a bit quiet from them, but now their new tracks are coming along like buses. Except they don't like Buses as they tell us in their latest two-minute onslaught accompanied with an equally chaotic video.

TRACK OF THE DAY : Loose Articles - Up The Disco

Loose Articles return with their first single since last year's Orchard Lounge EP. Up The Disco is a riotous barrel of fun that doesn't take itself too serious accompanied by a music video that follows in the same vein.

20 FOR 2020 - EVEN THE STARS TIPS - Part One

Every year we give our predictions as to bands that will make their mark in the following year. Sometimes we're way off the mark, sometimes we're spot on and other times we're a year or even two or three ahead of a band breaking. What really matters though is we think these twenty artists are great - and think you should check them out.

Loose Articles - Orchid Lounge EP

Loose Articles have arrived out of nowhere with intimate exhilarating live shows of three minute songs that have ripped up the traditional rules of songwriting. Their debut EP Orchid Lounge features four songs that’ll be familar to anyone who’s witnessed those sets - but can they recapture that in the studio?

TRACK OF THE DAY : Loose Articles - Money For Booze

Money For Booze is Loose Articles' debut single taken from their Orchid Lounge EP that they launched at Aatma in Manchester on Saturday night. An ode to going out for a drink to relieve the boredom and stress of the day to day grind and struggling to find the money to do so, the four-piece capture perfectly in three minutes the life choices you make when you're living on a budget in a world where austerity is king and Boris is the leader.

Loose Articles - Manchester O2 Ritz Basement - 30th August 2019

Loose Articles were one of the local bands invited onto the Manchester Psych Fest bill across four venues on Friday night. Down in the basement of the Ritz, they delivered a set that marks them out as one of the most in-your-face bands in the new wave of Manchester music.
