MarthaGunn - Interview


MarthaGunn featured in our top tips for 2018 and promptly disappeared. They've returned though in 2019 with two singles - Saint Cecilia and Love And Emotion. We caught up with them for a chat about their name, what they did in 2018, the two singles and their plans for the future.

MarthaGunn / Cosmo Calling - Manchester Soup Kitchen - 1st May 2019


MarthaGunn's first headline tour rolled into Manchester on Wednesday night. A ten-song set of psychedelic-tinged rock including recent single Saint Cecilia and a surprise stripped-down Ohio as highlights delighted an enthusiastic Manchester crowd. Support came from Cosmo Calling.

Saint Cecilia is the debut single from MarthaGunn, a band that appeared in our top four tips for 2018 having seen them live at the tail end of 2017 and then they promptly never released anything the whole year. Their first offering is more than worth the wait though.

Findlay / MarthaGunn / Baby Taylah - Glasgow King Tut's Wah Wah Hut - 10th December 2017



Findlay brought what felt like her first UK tour in an eternity to a close on Sunday night at Glasgow's King Tut's Wah Wah Hut supported by Brighton's MarthaGunn and local Baby Taylah. Playing the majority of songs from her debut album Forgotten Pleasures, Findlay and her band delivered a set that warmed up the audience and left us scratching our heads as to why she's still playing venues of this size.
