Hey Bulldog / Déjà Vega / Freakout Honey / Savannah - Manchester Night People - 13th April 2018



Hey Bulldog launched their Al Lupo single with a band-packed evening at Manchester's Night People last night. Supported by Savannah, Freakout Honey and Déjà Vega, they celebrated their latest release with a forty-minute set that allowed them room to play tracks not usually aired and demonstrate why they're one of the most technically proficient bands in town.

Manchester Psych Fest (Ryley Walker / TVAM / Britain / Freakout Honey) - Manchester Various Venues - 2nd September 2017



The third annual Manchester Psych Fest took over three Northern Quarter venues on Saturday with an eclectic range of acts that fall under the loose umbrella that is Psych these days. We spent the afternoon and early evening in the company of Freakout Honey, Britain, TVAM and Ryley Walker.

Day Two of the sixth edition of A Carefully Planned Festival and as ever the line up threw up a number of clashes as well as times where we were forced onto a voyage of discovery. We saw The Gildings, Corinthians, Hannah Nicholson, Katherine Priddy, Jo Rose, Freschard, Laura James, Freakout Honey and Soccer96 across our favourite Northern Quarter venues.

Freakout Honey have made a massive impression in Manchester in the six short months since their debut gig opened up Manchester's Psych Fest. Their live shows have brought them a burgeoning audience, drawn in with the mesmerising collision of seven musical minds in a melting pot, a volatile fusion of noise as well as moments of transcendental calm beauty and sonic exploration.

The Lucid Dream / The Boris Johnson Massacre - Manchester Soup Kitchen - 11th September 2015


It's been a stellar year for The Lucid Dream in the psyche circles where they're increasingly being perceived as the leaders of the pack. They played their last gig of 2015 before they retreat to record their third album in the claustrophobic surroundings of Manchester's Soup Kitchen supported by The Boris Johnson Massacre, an unholy combination of the city's demons Purple Heart Parade and Freakout Honey.

We made our way to a packed Castle to catch up on two bands that can still count the number of shows they've done on their fingers.

Manchester Psych Fest Part 1 - Freakout Honey, Black Lung, White Noise Sound, Déja Vegà, Hey Bulldog - Manchester Night And Day Cafe - 13th June 2015




Manchester's Night And Day played host to the city's third Psych Fest, a day full of ten acts in one venue starting mid-afternoon into the early hours of the next day. From local bands through to nationally and internationally recognised bands, the line-up consisted of a wide scope of the bands that fall under the "psych" banner. In the first part we review the first five acts - Freakout Honey, Black Lung, White Noise Sound, Déja Vegà and Hey Bulldog.
