Touts return with a new single Before We Go Forward, a cover of a lost Joe Strummer track that feels particularly apposite in these troubled and uncertain times that we live in, and a Irish and UK tour at the end of the month.
The band feel that the song is particularly relevant at the moment as we continually live in a state of uncertainty about the future of our countries, something that is felt even more acutely by Touts and their families living close to the border between Northern Ireland and the Republic in Derry. “It especially made us think of Brexit, especially the lyrics, “Before We Go Forward / We find the Achilles heel / Which is money, money, money, The only thing they feel. BEFORE WE GO FORWARD!”
Touts play Dublin Academy Green Room (March 20), Belfast Voodoo Rooms (21), Limerick Dolans (22), Galway Roisin Dubh (24), Glasgow The Garage Attic (26), Leeds Key Club (27), Liverpool Studio 2 (28), Manchester Night And Day (29), Birmingham Actress And Bishop (30) and London Borderline (31) and Derry Al Culturlann (April 6).
