San Francisco four-piece Be Calm Honcho released their debut EP Honcho Dreams last June. We found them by chance as their video popped up on You Tube. We loved the track I Love California so much we bought the EP and here's the track that made us fall in love with them.
I Love California, like much of the EP (which at 11 tracks is really an album), is drenched in the psychedelic vibe of the city that it was created in, but with a knowing nod to the surf-rock elements of the likes of Best Coast with insistent guitar, seductively layered vocals and a video that matches the joyful abandon of the song.
The band are back in the studio recording the follow-up to the EP as well as playing a series of dates in California, Oregon and Nevada.
