TRACK OF THE DAY : Weimar - John Doe

Weimar's double A-side debut single is released this Friday featuring John Doe and Curse The Songs. Described as being "preoccupied with the seedier side of culture and the darker elements of humanity, and the need for cultural and artistic rebellion in the face of political oppression", the single is an amalgam of the band's influences but with their own personalities writ large across it.

John Doe is accompanied by a black and white video shot around Manchester featuring lead single Aidan Cross trying to track down the mysterious man of the song's title and it complements the unnerving nature of the song's pursuit.

Recorded at 6db Studios Salford and produced by the legendary Simon 'Ding' Archer, who's worked with The Fall and Cabbage, the double A-side will be release on CD by the band's own label Marlene's Hat, and digitally by German Shepherd.

The single, with its double A-side Curse The Songs is launched with a gig at Salford's Eagle Inn on Friday February 1st - tickets are available here.

Weimar are on Facebook and Twitter.
