TRACK OF THE DAY : Natalie McCool - Someone Nue

Natalie McCool has released Someone Nue, her second single of the year, via Modern Sky and Warner. Whilst revealing a more electronic sound to her music, it still retains her standout voice as she comes to terms with the realisation that a relationship is coming to a natural end.

Natalie explained the meaning behind the song and the interesting play of words within its title : "I wrote this song about the creeping feeling you get when you know something is over. A Nue is a legendary Japanese spirit of ill omen; a shapeshifting phantom which sometimes appears as a black cloud. This was a perfect theme to bring to the lyrics because it represents the creeping dread you feel when you slowly realise the truth and what it represents. I wanted to weave this theme into the wholesingle concept including the video design which has a yin / yang feel to it, where you are watching something pure being spoiled.”

Natalie plays shows at Leeds Oporto (September 23), Manchester Jimmy's (25) and London The Waiting Room (26).
