Nicole Atkins returns with Captain, the lead track from her forthcoming fifth album Italian Ice that is scheduled for release on April 17. The country-tinged single features Britt Daniels of Spoon on backing vocals, but as ever it's Nicole's vocals that take centre stage.
The song sees Nicole trying to win back a lover, with lots of water references in the verses leading into the chorus where she declares "I'll pull you on deck, I can be your captain for once, let me be your captain for once, so come on back to my arms."
