TRACK OF THE DAY : talker - Suck Up

Suck Up is the latest track to be taken from talker's forthcoming EP due for release at the start of next month. It's a song that deals in self-doubt and uncertainty about which of multi-personalities is the real one with a video that captures the mood of the song perfectly.

Celeste (talker) describes the song as "my favorite song to play live and might be my favorite talker song yet. We’re all a thousand different things and I hope you can find a little piece of yourself in this song. Suck Up is a song that has really resonated with me lately, and I think a lot of people will feel the same. We’re all multifaceted people with so many sides to us. Sometimes it feels like those sides don’t all line up. And sometimes I wish I were someone else entirely, but I try to just fake it—almost sucking up to whatever version I am on a given day so that I’ll like myself."

It's accompanied by a video that capture those feelings - from standing in front of a crowd playing a show, being alone at a party, to sitting or lying on her sofa at home and moving through rooms and daily chores in a number of guises. The song comes to the conclusion that through all this uncertainty that "I’m a thousand versions of myself when I wake up and I don’t think any of them will ever be enough"

talker is on Facebook and Twitter.

The EP is launched with a concert at the Bootleg Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday March 8 supported by I'm Glad It's You, Cuffed Up and Glacier Veins.
